“He is Risen”
Dearly beloved in Christ; Prayers and blessings receive.
Our Lord has risen! Let us celebrate by joining our voices with the heavenly hosts, proclaiming victory and saying “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55)
In this blessed month of Nisan we have two significant celebrations. As Assyrians we celebrate the beginning of a new year, and as Christians we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus The Christ.
Being an Assyrian has so much meaning, first it was a choice made by our creator. Second being one of the oldest nationalities in existence. Third having the responsibility to preserve a language and culture that is almost extinct, and trying to unite a nation scattered all over the globe. Unless we, as people, realize the importance of this there will come a day when Assyrians will only be found in the pages of history.
As Christians we are obligated to live and share our faith in the resurrected Savior. We must not only profess our faith by words, but become the resurrected Christ to our families, friends and neighbors. We must bring to fruition the Sacred Ministry of our Lord Jesus, conveying salvation to the oppressed, healing to the sick, and release to those who are in bondage, comfort to the weary, and bringing near those who are far off.
I would like to wish everyone a happy new year, and a wonderful Easter full of blessings and joy.
In His Service,
Father George Bet Rasho |
